Jon is presently Director of Clinical Research Informatics at Children's Hospital Boston, as well as Clinical Instructor at the Harvard Medical School, in the Department of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, also located in the Children’s Hospital of Boston in Massachusetts, USA. He is a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Medical School and earned his Masters of Biomedical Informatics at the Department of Biomedical Informatics, also at the University of Pittsburgh. Previously, Jon was Clinical Instructor at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC where he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the electronic medical record, achieving a hospital-wide paperless system.
As part of his role as Director of Clinical Research Informatics, he has led an ongoing effort to improve the availability of clinical data to the research community. Of note, over the past three years, his team has been able to fulfill hundreds of research requests and supported thousands of research queries as a result of this clinical research platform being available. As part of his role as Director of Business Intelligence, he has led an ongoing effort to improve the availability of clinical, quality, and operational data to the Boston Children’s Hospital enterprise.
