Sriram Ramgopal, MD is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Ann and Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Pediatrics and fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. He is interested in the use of advanced analytics in medical decision making and in the development of clinical practice guidelines in the Emergency Department.
Dr.Ramgopal's PEDSnet project is titled "Clinical Decision Support of Pediatric Pneumonia", this project will be explored using the following aims:
- To determine health-systems stakeholder priorities in the development of usable CDS tools to promote guideline concordant management of pneumonia in the emergency department with the goals of reducing unnecessary chest radiograph use and facilitating antimicrobial stewardship.
- To assess knowledge, attitudes, barriers and facilitators towards AI-aided CDS among patients/caregivers seeking care for evaluation of a respiratory concern with respect to the use of decision-making tools in the ED.
- To construct an analytical dataset to identify characteristics associated with CAP which may be abstracted from the electronic medical record (EMR).
