Provenance

The Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery (RECOVER) Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC) Electronic Health Record (EHR) Cohort Study

Description

Cerebral infarction, unspecified and cerebrovascular accident (disorder) were included to identify stroke in the original codeset. The updated codeset includes cerebral infarction and cerebrovascular accident (disorder). ICD10 and ICD10CM codes for I63.9 (cerebral infarction, unspecified) were included. SNOMED codes and descendants of the code 230690007 (cerebrovascular accident (disorder)) were also included. This concept set was initially developed for a Y2, Q3 RECOVER query to identify patients with SCD who had outcomes of stroke following COVID infection, compared with patients who were uninfected; the concept set was intended to broadly capture patients with stroke events occurring up to a year following infection. The concept set was also applied to the SCD study which was generated from this query. This concept set is limited to SNOMED and ICD10/ICD10CM diagnosis codes.
