| dc.description | This resource contains a recorded demonstration from the August 2026 PEDSnet Data Analytics meeting and associated example code to facilitate using argos (the R package version of the PEDSnet "standard framework") to connect to the database, as well as some extra tips on how to best use argos to interact with Trino. The attached zip file contains the following files: - setup_demo.R: Demonstrates how to use the init_session and init_session_from_config functions to configure your argos session with project-specific information and connect to the database - driver_myanalysis.R: Contains some examples of analytic approaches that need to be adjusted when transitioning from Postgres to Trino. These include date computations, string interactions, temporary tables, and indexing capabilities - specs/rx_htn.csv: An example concept set used in driver_myanalysis.R to demonstrate limitations to outputting local tables to Trino - config_examples: This directory contains two example JSON files that will allow users to connect to the database. One (`argos_trino_config_example.json`) is similar to the structure of config file that was used in the previous standard framework and can be used with `init_session`. The other (`argos_init_session_config.json`) contains both the database connection details and additional session-level information and should be used with `init_session_from_config`. - .gitignore: An example `.gitignore` file that will instruct git to ignore particular files or file types to prevent them from being pushed to a version controlled repository - argos_setup_documentation.pdf: Written documentation to support the demonstration |
