Sarah Wawrzynski, PhD, CCRN

“Dr. Wawrzynski is an Assistant Nurse Scientist in the Center for Healthcare Delivery Science and Co-Director of Nursing Research at Nemours Children’s Health in Delaware. She completed her doctoral training at the University of Utah, College of Nursing. During her graduate training as a T32 and F31 predoctoral fellow her research focused broadly on the patient and family adjustment to pediatric life limiting illness. Dr. Wawrzynski recently completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in the Center for Healthcare Delivery Science at Nemours and her current research is focused on the socioecological factors that influence family members adjustment and management of congenital heart disease. Her interest in this area is informed by her experience caring for medically fragile children and their families in a pediatric cardiac intensive care unit for many years. Her ultimate goal is to identify equitable and culturally sensitive ways
to support families managing pediatric illness over its varied trajectories.
