Michelle Lopez, MD, MPH

Michelle Lopez, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor with a primary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hospital Medicine, and a secondary appointment in the Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). Dr. Lopez completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine, a Master’s of Public Health Degree with a concentration in Health Disparities, and the Cambridge Health Alliance Health Equity Scholars Training Program. She serves as the Director of the BCM Ethics, Professionalism, and Policy Program, the Program Director for the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH)/BCM, and faculty in the Center for Child Health Policy and Advocacy at TCH. Dr. Lopez’ goals are to use research and learning health systems science to address unmet health related social needs (HRSN) in the families of hospitalized children and to improve health outcomes in children. Her PEDSnet project is titled, “Addressing Social Needs to Improve Health Equity in Hospitalized Children: Data Drives System Change”.
