U.S. State and County Data Report for PCORnet® - FD1967 PCORnet® Table 1 Query

As part of a PCORnet® network characterization query request, the PCORnet® Query Fulfillment (QF) core generated and reported the geographic distribution of patients aggregated across all PCORnet® Clinical Research Networks. This data report describes a population of patients with any ICD-10 or SNOMED-CT diagnosis code during 2023 at participating DataMarts within a PCORnet® Clinical Research Network. To facilitate visualization, the patient counts have been aggregated across participating sites in PEDSnet and represented through a choropleth map.

Aggregated counts at the 5-digit ZIP code level were requested from all participating DataMarts within PCORnet®. Counts at the 5-digit ZIP code were then aggregated for DataMarts participating in PEDSnet Clinical Research Network for PCORnet®. 5-digit ZIP code were subsequently mapped, and counts were aggregated to census county.

ZIP code to county mappings use the HUD-USPS Crosswalk made available by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). For ZIP codes spanning multiple counties, counts were proportionally distributed using the residential ratios provided in the HUD-USPS Crosswalk.
