This collection consists of phenotypes for patients with diseases affecting the lungs and airways and range from acute infections (e.g., pneumonia) to chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, cystic fibrosis). Phenotype logic may include diagnosis codes, pulmonary function tests, oxygen use, hospitalizations, and medication prescriptions (e.g., inhaled corticosteroids). Environmental triggers or comorbidities may also be factored in. Example phenotypes include “Pediatric Asthma,” typically defined using diagnostic codes, rescue/controller inhaler use, and exacerbation history, and “Bronchiolitis,” often defined in infants using clinical diagnosis, respiratory support, and viral test results.
