This concept set was generated by restricting the PCORnet CDM value set to provider types that mention "nephrology". The value set uses the "Medicare Specialty" vocabulary, though the PEDSnet CDM also uses "ABMS", "NUCC", and "PEDSnet" vocabularies. The concept set is based on PCORnet CDM v6.0 2021-04.

dc.provenanceThis concept set was developed for the Preserving Kidney Function in Children with Chronic Kidney Disease (PRESERVE) study. Nephrology visits are a key variable for the PRESERVE study, as the focus is kidney disease. Patients in the cohort were required to have at least one nephrology visit and number of nephrology visits per person year was an covariate of interest.
