dc.description.abstractThis check computes types of clinical events that occur across clinician or facility specialties. It summarizes the quality of clinical specialty data in a study sample for a given site. The intention of the check is to evaluate the concordance of specific events (e.g., diagnosis of type I diabetes) and specialist providers or care sites (e.g., endocrinologist or endocrinology clinic) at the visit level.

local.description.vizThis check outputs a bar graph which displays the proportion of total visits with each specialty. The graph can be stratified by user-selected visit type or cluster (up to five). Specialties are color-coded and can be isolated by clicking on the graph. A tool tip for each bar appears upon hover, and provides values for the specialty name, the number of visits, and the proportion.
