dc.description- This analysis revealed severe gaps in drug metadata population as it pertains to hydroxyurea exposures - Many sites had fields that were not populated at all -- namely National, who was missing data in 3/4 fields entirely. Other sites like Colorado had relatively well populated metadata. - Days supply was the least well populated field while frequency was generally well populated across the network. - The lack of days supply could be detrimental to the computation of drug exposure windows needed to confirm exposure to hydroxyurea on different dates.
The results of an Expected Variables Present check using the Multi-Site, Exploratory, Cross-Sectional parameters. This check investigates the population of drug metadata fields related to hydroxyurea drug exposures.

Instead of using this metadata to establish drug exposure windows, we decided to use the drug exposure start & end dates which were generally better populated. We developed rules to handle missing dates, which was more feasible than trying to fill in some of the missing metadata in the structured fields.
