dc.descriptionThis function will categorize each patient in a provided cohort into one of several different etiology groupings based on their CKD status and characterization. There are three different hierarchies available for classification: - A 2-factor hierarchy classifying patients into glomerular or non-glomerular status; - a 3-factor hierarchy classifying patients into malignant, glomerular disease, or other status; - and a 4-factor hierarchy classifying patients into malignant, glomerular disease, other kidney disease, or other/non-specific statuses. The <a href="https://pedsnet.org/metadata/entities/phenotype/53b64806-3ff2-413b-9042-a5de270cb530">malignant</a> and <a href="https://pedsnet.org/metadata/entities/phenotype/d56c1342-0b5a-4a49-b6f8-c560f3553d35">glomerular disease</a> statuses are identified using their associated phenotypes, while the "other kidney disease" status is identified using a <a href="">concept set</a>.
