Sarah Dain, MD

Dr. Dain is an instructor and attending physician in the Division of Hematology, Department of Pediatrics at CHOP with a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology. She completed her fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology at CHOP in 2023. Dr. Dain is building a career as an independent physician-scientist and plans to lead a research program integrating learning health systems and epidemiologic methods to improve care for children with hematologic disorders. She hopes to leverage the PEDSnet Scholars program to accomplish her long-term goal of refining the current “one size fits all” approach to cerebrovascular manifestations of sickle cell disease and to identify patients for whom alternative approaches are needed.

Project title: Creation of a Computable Phenotype in Childhood- Onset Arterial Ischemic Stroke (CAIS).
