Dr. Jelinek (he/him) is an Adolescent Medicine physician at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and an Instructor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as the Clinical Informatics Champion for Adolescent Health and Patient Privacy at CHOP and is affiliated faculty with PolicyLab and the Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative. Dr. Jelinek received his MD and MPH from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was a Human Rights and Social Justice Scholar and trained for his Pediatric residency. He completed his fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at CHOP and became a certified HIV Specialist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine and an Epic Physician Builder. Dr. Jelinek was also a public policy fellow with the New York Academy of Medicine and completed a fellowship in Healthcare Consulting and Leadership with Deloitte Consulting in Washington, DC. He received a MA in Education from the University of Colorado while working as a high school science teacher in the Denver public school system through Teach for America. Dr. Jelinek’s research focuses on using health information technology, educational interventions, and clinical innovations to improve healthcare access and outcomes for LGBTQ+ youth. His goal is to become an independent clinician-scientist advancing healthcare for LGBTQ+ youth.
