Nephrology, Providers and Care Sites

This concept set contains provider and care site specialties for nephrology. This concept set was previously developed for other PEDSnet studies by searching for terms related to nephrology. This concept set was not reviewed by a clinician for this particular study, but it has been used in a multitude of other nephrology focused PEDSnet studies including PRESERVE, HSP, P50 clinical insights and ARPKD. It was developed to assess the frequency with which patients with primary hyperoxaluria (PH) were seeking care with specialties involved in patient care for and related to PH. This concept set contains NUCC, HES Specialty, ABMS, and Medicare Specialty vocabularies. Some of the vocabularies in the concept set are not utilized in the PEDSnet CDM to describe provider specialty, but could potentially be present in other networks for distributed queries.
