Abstract

This field is used to represent height measurements in the PCORnet CDM.

Funder(s)

Provenance

This concept set was developed for the Preserving Kidney Function in Children with Chronic Kidney Disease (PRESERVE) study.

Description

This concept set contains a field of the PCORnet VITAL table pertaining to body height measurements. Height is used to derive estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), a measure of kidney function. eGFR is a key variable for the PRESERVE study, used both to define the cohort of CKD patients and as the main outcome variable for many analyses.

Please note: In the PCORnet CDM, height is in inches. In the PEDSnet CDM, height is in centimeters. It is advisable to review distributions of height across age to identify measurements which are using the wrong unit.
