Provenance
This data quality check was run on a database extracted from the The Preserving Kidney Function in Children With CKD (PRESERVE) Study. These results were not used for the study, but rather run on the study data after analysis was conducted as part of an SSQDA demonstration project.
Description
- Serum creatinine visits are primarily associated with Other/Unknown, Primary Care/General Peds, and Nephrology specialties. This indicates a potential gap in specialty mappings given the non-specific nature of the utilization patterns. These labs are also utilized by general practicioners in addition to nephrology specialists, which aligns with expectations.
- Antihypertensive prescriptions, on the other hand, are strongly associated with nephrology specialists and less so with other categories (Other/Unknown, Cardiology). This indicates a more clear utilization pattern for this cohort compared to the labs.
Response to Findings
Study team did not conduct further investigation or data intervention in response to these results because this was a demonstration project intended to highlight the functionality of the SQUBA tool.
