This concept set was created to analyze the potential for urban greenspace exposure in early life to protect against development of asthma for the study "Neighborhood Greenspace as a Protective Factor Against Childhood Asthma."

Description

This concept set is one of a set which was created en masse to evaluate Asthma as part of a study. ICD-10 and ICD-10-CM codes were requested specifically by the study PI and mapped to SNOMED by the developer.

Emerging evidence suggests that exposure to vegetated land cover, or "greenspace", particularly in early life, may prevent development of asthma. This study aims to investigate neighborhood greenspace in relation to the asthma incidence, in a longitudinal cohort of over 170,000 children living in the Philadelphia metropolitan region, followed from infancy.
