National estimate for sterile injectable chemotherapy use for pediatric cancer patients

Cancer afflicts approximately 15,000 children annually in the United States. In recent years, drug shortages for sterile injectable chemotherapies have occurred in the United States. This study seeks to estimate the amount of sterile chemotherapy used each year in the United States by pediatric cancer patients. This estimate will inform a cost analysis which will in turn be used to advocate for federal legislation to address chemotherapy shortages for pediatric cancer patients.
In this study, the study team is to estimate the amount of sterile chemotherapy used each year in the United States by pediatric cancer patients and the cost of purchasing sterile injectable chemotherapies in the United States.
